ATLANTA–Gospel legend LaShun Pace, a key member of The Anointed Pace Sisters, passed away today (March 21). LaShun had been on dialysis for five years and died of kidney failure. She was 60 years old.

On Common Ground News(OCGNews) Publishers Glenn and Valerie Morgan extend condolences to the Pace Family.  LaShun and her nine siblings have always been much more than just  famous gospel singers to the Morgans.

“We are sending up prayers for the family. LaShun has taken her flight to join her oldest sister, Duranice, and their only brother, Murphy,” said Glenn Morgan.

“The Pace family will always have a special place in our hearts.”

Pastor Murphy Pace performed the marriage ceremony of Glenn and Valerie Morgan in Atlanta in August 1984.  Bishop Pace died in 2011 after a prolonged illness at the age of 54. Evangelist Duranice Pace died on Jan. 21, 2021 of thyroid cancer at age 62. Their mother, Bettie Ann Pace, died July 18, 2020 at age 82. She was diagnosed with kidney failure

Valerie became friends with Duranice, who was nicknamed “Niecey,” Murphy, and their sister, Phyllis, while they all were college students. The three young women shared the same dormitory. On the weekends, Valerie would join the two sisters and Murphy in their travels to various churches in the South, where they would sing together.

“They would let me sing alto with them. All of them could really sing and Murphy could sing and preach,” said Valerie Morgan. “I loved traveling with them. They were like my big sisters and brother. Churches would roll out the red carpet and feed us homecooked meals. As a starving college student, I appreciated those meals because the cafeteria was closed on Sunday. I will always cherish those moments as we lift up the family in prayer.”

“We will continue to keep the family in our prayers. It’s never easy losing a loved one. LaShun has completed her assignment and she is with her heavenly Father,” Glenn Morgan said.
